I really don’t care much for terrorists, mainly because they are fighting for a cause I don’t believe in but also because they really must be quite dumb to think that blowing themselves up is going to help their cause.
I also don’t care much for the western response to terrorists; they are portrayed as the bogeyman lurking under every bed waiting to blow up our sons and daughters. This just feeds the fear that they desire and makes them seem like an organised army rather than a bunch of lone wackos.
During the 80s while the US was busily funding the terrorists rather than doing their PR, the UK was subjected to many terrorist threats from the IRA. The response from the government was to starve them of publicity and this worked quite well. It’s basically pretty unlikely that this could happen nowadays because the media has exploded and there are tonnes of self styled journos blogging away while sitting in their mom’s basement masturbating furiously and that makes the media pretty hard to rein in to doing the right thing.
Instead we need to continue with the mass media coverage of terrorists but rather than printing pictures like the one above we should opt for ones like this:
By taking away the fear we take away the fuel for their terror. By mocking them as impotent wackos who spend all their time sitting at home jerking off to the thought of 72 virgins (who will have no comparison and so think that the terrorist is as good as sex is going to get) we might even make recruitment just that little bit more difficult. Let’s not fear the terrorists and impose massive and disproportionate restrictions on our own freedoms, let’s mock the terrortards and get on with out lives.
