The British courts, or more specifically Mr Justice Blair of the High Court has ruled in favour of an engineer who violated a site of special scientific interest in order to protect his home from falling in to the sea. The area was declared a site of special scientific interest by Natural England, a government agency full of ass covering twats with too much power and not enough government oversight, because there were some fossils in the cliffs. Now if there are fossils that you want to protect because they are scientifically interesting then the worst way to do that is to stop someone putting up erosion defences to stop the cliffs being eroded.
